In order to implement the regulation of finance minister no 106/PMK.2/2016 and Permenristekdikti No 69 2016 about establishment of an assessment committee or reviewer and assessment procedures for the conduct of research. Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) incorporates with Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenristekdikti) to conduct “Training and Certification of Research Reviewer” started on Tuesday till Friday ((23-26/01) in Pusat Pengembangan dan Pemberdayaan Pendidik dan Tenaga Kependidikan (PPPPTK), Yogyakarta. The program intended to educate viewer in understanding more about the latest funding guide of Kemenristekdikti and the procedure to assess it.
Dr. Muhammad Dimyati, directorate general of research and development strengthening of Kemenristekdikti delivered that this training aimed to give more understanding to reviewer about the new paradigm of output-based research budgets, along with the set of rules that support them. “This training has become our responsibilities to yield honest and professional reviewer in assessing worthy research proposal and research output. Reviewer is part of ways to develop three research indicators and its development namely publication, intellectual worthiness and technology prototype,” told Muhammad.
Muhamamd added that presence of honest and professional reviewer must be able to support research and development in achieving three output indicators output research both in quantity and quality. “With the comprehensive materials which leads to standard SNI ISO/ IECI7024: 2012, this training is supposed to provide honest and professional reviewer who can change new face of research and development in Indonesia so that we can reach the willingness of ideal research together,’’ he declared.
Muhammad emphasized that the materials which will be discussed included standardization of research activities and Kemenristekdikti policy in developing research quality. “The participants must understand all the materials by having a discussion often since the materials delivered will influence the core ability such as patent research, financial audit of research activities, reviewer attitude, assessment of applied research schemes, reviewer’s assignment criteria and research policy of UMY,” he explained.
The same idea was also stated by vice rector for academic affair of UMY, Dr. Ir. Sukamta that at the moment Muhammadiyah higher education (PTM) must increase the quality especially in community service and research. “Now, PTM should have strong commitment in Scopus indexed scientific publications. Thus, the lecturers are demanded to write articles, journals and monograph. The opportunity like this training can be utilized as good as possible. I also would like to say thank you to all PTM in Indonesia who have agreed to attend. I hope that we can improve our collaboration in research field and carrying the good name of each institution,” he claimed.
