As many as 22 lecturers of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) has qualified as competence assessors. The lecturers hail from different departments available in UMY. Before the lecturers took the test on Saturday (6/7), they took part in a competence assessor training held by the Profession Certification Bureau of Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang (LSP UMM) with joint cooperation by the National Profession Certification Bureau (BNSP) for five days, which took place in UMM.

When contacted by a team of journalists from the Office of Human Resources and Protocol of UMY on Wednesday (10/7), DR. Filosa Gita Sukmono, the director of LSP UMY, stated that the lecturers who took part in the training should prepare the necessary documents for the licensing of LSP UMY. “The lecturers who took part in the competence assessor training will fully support the competence assessing process in LSP UMY. Then, we will immediately prepare the documents for the licensing of LSP UMY,” he stated.

DR. Sukmono added that the founding of LSP UMY is meant to aid in the preparation of graduates from UMY. “The founding of LSP UMY is meant to prepare UMY graduates with the necessary skills, which refers to the National Standard of Competence and Qualification (SKKNI)”. Filosa added.

The same reasoning was given by the Certification Manager of LSP UMY, DR. Fajar Junaedi. “The existing certifications available to all students include certifications for specific departments as well as those that can be used in all departments, such as entrepreneurial skills,” Fajar closed. (CDL)
