Paper Based-Test (PBT) Period III of student admissions of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) was conducted on Sunday (9/8) at 7.30-10.30 a.m at Sportorium UMY. Joining the test were 2519 participants. “It was the greatest number of PBT participants,” informed Dr. Siti Dyah Handayani, S.E., M.M., a Head of Student Admissions (Penmaru) of UMY.
As the previous PBT, Medical Faculty was the favorite faculty in the last period of PBT. Dr. Siti Dyah conveyed that participants are interested in Medical Department and Dentistry for Sciences, and Department of Management, Accounting, and regular International Relations for Social Sciences.
Dr. Siti Dyah mentioned that the participants were across Indonesia like Papua and Nusa Tenggara Timur. “There were participants from Thailand. They commonly registered through grade system and non-test. Only a few registered through PBT,” she inserted. Foreign PBT participants were also required to comprehend the Indonesian Language since the test was in the Indonesian language. “If foreign participants had registered for regular class, they had to be able speak Indonesian,” she added.
The yield of PBT Period II will be announced on Wednesday (12/8). The announcement can be seen on newspaper of Kedaulatan Rakyat (KR) or can be accessed on demo.umy.ac.id. Besides, student admission through CBT (Computer Based-Test) period II are still available by Saturday, 15 August 2015, yet several departments are already unavailable. By Monday (10/8), closed department registration was Pharmacy, Medical Department, Dentistry, Civil Engineering, Agrotechnology, Electrical Engineering, and Management. Dr. Siti Dyah stated that registration for several departments might be closed in the following day as Department of Laws for regular class. The closing was based on the fulfilled target.
“The number of participants registering at UMY by Saturday afternoon (8/8) was accounted 37,422 participants. 3,900 participants passed and have already registered as students of UMY while 2015-2016 the quota is 4,500 students,” she informed. To conclude, UMY still accepts 600 students
