9 students and two lecturers from Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyah of Law (AIKoL) International Islamic University (IIU) Malaysia visited Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta (UMY), Thursday (April 28th), as a part of both sides intimate cooperation.
The students of IIU Malaysia will be in Yogyakarta for about a month joining academic activities in UMY and the the two lecturers are arranged to deliver public lecturer.
“It is the fourth students and lecturers exchange program between the two” said the Dean of Law Faculty of UMY, Endrio Susilo, SH, MCL. “and Next September, 10 UMY students and several lecturers are going to visit IIU Malaysia” he stated.
Endrio believed that the program would integrate two parties as one muslim students community. He also saw this as a very good opportunity for both side to widen the insight and learn more from others’ experience and knowledge.
Direktur International Program for Law and Shariah (IPOLS) UMY, Yordan Gunawan, said that the Malaysian students will take several course during their stay in UMY. Some particular subjects such as Introduction to Indonesian Law and Muhammadiyah studies will be given.
“We hope that the Malaysian students will have better understanding of Indonesian law and Islamic dynamic in Indonesia ” said Yordan.
