Five teams of PKM (Student Creativity Program) of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) passed to the 28th National Scientific Week (PIMNAS) organized by Directorate of Higher Education (DIKTI). PIMNAS 28 will be conducted at University of Halu Oleo (UHO) Kendari on 5-9 October 2015.
A supervisor of PKM UMY Sugito, S.IP., M.Si, in an interview on Monday (10/8) stated that the five teams of PKM UMY passing to PIMNAS 28 comprised of several PKM categories, namely, PKM-M (Community Service), PKM-GT (Written Notion), and PKM-K (Entrepreneurship). “Alhamdulillah, five teams go to PIMNAS 28, namely 2 teams of PKM-M, 1 team of PKM-GT, and 2 teams of PKM-K),” he mentioned.
Sugito informed that 440 teams from various universities in Indonesia pass to PIMNAS, and UMY is a private university having the greatest number of teams in Yogyakarta for PIMNAS 28. “Having 5 teams for PIMNAS, UMY succeeds achieving the first rank of private universities in Yogyakarta,” he inserted.
In PIMNA 2014 at University of Diponegoro (UNDIP) Semarang, UMY achieved the 6th national rank, 2 gold medals, and 1 bronze medal. UMY attempted to maintain the achievement by preparing a lot of aspects. Sugito conveyed that the preparation was dealing with technical and mental capability of the teams. “For technical preparation, we conduct PIMNAS Camp for a month to prepare scientific article writing in detail, to train presentation, and to make a poster. In the camp, we invite several speakers for preparing the teams,” he asserted.
Furthermore, Catur Igo Prasetyo, a Communication Science student passing to PIMNAS 28, and his team did not believed that their PKM-M could pass to PIMNAS 28. “We did not expect that we can defeat thousands of PKM proposals of various universities in Indonesia. We are optimistic to achieve a gold medal and will make UMY proud in this PIMNAS,” he affirmed.
Igo and his team also carried out various preparations. “Our preparation focuses on revising the final report and technical preparation because we were criticized on both aspects in monev (monitoring evaluation),” he inserted.
