Liaison Officer Has Strategic Roles in Succeeding KRI

Indonesian Robot Contest (KRI) 2015 would be conducted on 11-14 June 2015 and it is only few hours to go. Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) as the host has carried out various preparations to welcome the national robot contest. Technical and nontechnical preparations have been undertaken so that the event could run well from the opening to the closing. One of the significant preparations is Liaison Officer’s preparation.

Liaison Officer (LO) has essential strategic roles in the event so that the committee has prepared any matters dealing with LO in detail. LO basically functions as a connector of participants and guests. They would meet and be responsible for participants’ and guests’ need. There would be a lot of participants and guests coming to the KRI 2015 so that the committee has provided many LOs for four days. All the LOs are students of UMY.

Alfin, one of the LOs of KRI 2015, told that LOs have prepared several weeks before D-Day. They had meetings to get guidance and duties from the event coordinator. The preparation was quite long and took time.

“My senior offers me to be LO and he told that the preparation would be long and take time. Without further thinking, I accepted the offer. Then, the LOs was divided into several groups and got the job description,” Alfin informed.

Since KRI is a huge event, the LOs attempted to optimize their preparation. Alfin inserted that less active LOs during the preparation would be substituted. “Less actives members were substituted. We ought to be ready at 5 morning on D-Day. Because it is a huge event, we must be ready,” he asserted.
