UMY Launches 5 PKM Teams to PIMNAS 28

5 team of PKM (Student Creativity Program) of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) pass to PIMNAS (National Scientific Week) 28 in University of Halu Oleo on 5-9 October 2015. They were officially launched by Rector of UMY Prof. Dr. Bambang Cipto, M.A. on Friday (2/10) at the Ground Floor of A.R. Fachruddin A.

In the launching, Prof. Bambang uttered that he was proud of them joining PIMNAS. As ‘Unggul dan Islami’ university, UMY always attempts to attain academic and nonacademic achievements of national and international levels. “I appreciate students passing to PIMNAS this year. We gained achievements in the previous PIMNAS, and I wish we can maintain the achievement and be better in this PIMNAS,” he expected. In PIMNAS 27 conducted in UNDIP Semarang, UMY became the best private university achieving 2 gold medals and 1 bronze medal.

Furthermore, Head of Student Development Center Sugito, S.IP., M.Si. informed that UMY sent 2 teams of PKM-K (Entrepreneurship), 2 teams of PKM-M (Community Service), and 1 team of PKM-GT (Written Notion). “The students have passed adequately long process started from submitting a proposal, obtaining fund from DIKTI, evaluation monitoring (monev), to passing to PIMNAS. In fact, there were 161 proposal funded by DIKTI and 5 were selected to go to PIMNAS this year,” he conveyed.

Sugito inserted that they also carried out a lot of preparations for confronting PIMNAS. “We conducted PIMNAS Camp, which is a training of scientific article writing, workshop of poster making, and workshop of presentation because, in PIMNAS,  program presentation and poster making are competed,” he asserted.

Additionally, one of the accounting students as well as one of the PIMNAS participants Fendi Ardiansyah expressed that teams of UMY believed that they will gain the best achievements of PIMNAS this year. “We believe that we will make UMY proud and we will be the winner in this PIMNAS like maintaining the previous achievement as the best private university in PIMNAS,” he stated.
