Agro-technology Department of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) had sit-in in Singapore Polytechnic and Putra Malaysia Universiti on 8-12 September 2015. There were six students of batch 2013 and 2014 and 20 lecturers.
During the sit-in, students were invited to visit a laboratory and library of each university. It aimed at encouraging them to enhance their library. For instance, when visiting the library of Singapore Polytechnic, they learned how to design a cozy library.
Moreover, they also attended a lecture and had a practicum in Food Innovation and Research Center of Food Processing Lab of Singapore Polytechnic. So did they in Putra Malaysia Universiti that they join a lecture of agricultural introduction.
In an interview at Public Relation and Protocol Affairs on Saturday (26/9), one of the participants Bayu Prasetya expressed that he was glad to have an occasion to look at learning process abroad. He expected that the event can motivate them to pursue their study overseas. “We also wish that it may broaden our knowledge of agriculture and our experience,” he hoped.
