Concerning with Education Brings IPM Achieving National and International Award

One of the autonomous organizations of Muhammadiyah, namely Muhammadiyah Student Association (IPM), is a youth organization caring of this nation’s development. The care brought this organization achieved national and international awards like Indonesian Youth Award (PPI), National Best Youth Organization (OKP), and ASEAN TAYO (Ten Accomplished Youth Organization) for three times since 2006, 2013, and 2014. IPM is now also nominated in several awards such as Top 20 of Educational Care Award (APP) from Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud) which the result will be announced in December, and Top 10 of award of National Narcotics Agency (BNN) for a Drug Care Organization category.

IPM obtained PPI for four times due to its existence and care of education in Indonesia. The organization coined an educational program named ‘Rumah Inspiratif Pelajar Indonesia’ (Indonesian Student’s Inspiring House). Chaiman of IPM M. Khoirul Huda in an interview on Saturday (14/11) stated that the programs of the ‘Rumah Inspiratif Pelajar Indonesia’ comprises education of escalating high school students’ characters and leadership, establishing libraries in several areas of Indonesia, and building a school of Anti-Narcotics collaborating with Ministry of Social and BNN. “Through the programs, we could gain PPI 2015 for the fourth time organized by Ministry of Youth and Sport commemorating Youth Pledge Day on 28 October,” he told.

Khoirul Huda informed that PPI 2015 achived by IPM was an award of the best organization for Sosiopreneurship category. The award was given to the best five individuals and five organizations in Indonesia. “Alhamdulillah, IPM achieved the PPI. It confirmed IPM’s existence and concern about education of this nation by carrying out various programs,” he expressed.

He also mentioned that the process to obtain the PPI. IPM passed administrative selection, program appraisal, and appraisal of activity sustainability. “The foremost aspect of the scoring was the members of IPM spreading in almost all areas of Indonesia. The other appraisal was on the organization’s autonomy to perform all the programs by entrepreneurship,” he asserted.

Additionally, he told that ASEAN NATO is an award given for Indonesia youth organization having achievement in Southeast Asia. The award also brought IPM as the best Youth Organization (OKP) in ASEAN. “IPM’s various achievements are due to its innovations in education programs, particularly in educational literacy field that refers to education of reading, writing, and discussion for students,” he ended.
