An investment gallery of Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) was gained two awards from Indonesia Stock Exchange. The first award was the best investment gallery based on the development and innovation, and the other award was based on transaction value. The awards were rewarded on 13 November at Office of Indonesia Stock Exchange in Jakarta. It was the second time for BEI of UMY to obtain the award after achieving the same award in 2014. The information was shared by Gallery Head of BEI of UMY Iskandar Bukhori, S.E., S.H., M.Si. on Friday (20/11).
Iskandar conveyed that the competition of Indonesia Stock Exchange was joined by 130 investment galleries of BEI of higher education institutions in Indonesia. Investment gallery of BEI is a medium to acquaint capital market to the academicians. The investment gallery was conceptualized 3 in 1 of cooperation among BEI, higher education, and securities companies. It is expected that academicians understand not only the theory of capital market but also the practice. “Investment gallery of BEI in UMY was established in 1999, and in 2013 investment gallery of BEI 3 in 1 cooperated with First Asia Capital. Alhamdulillah, the gallery of BEI of UMY achieved the award from Indonesia Stock Exchange twice.
Iskandar inserted that the award of BEI for the investment gallery of BEI in higher education aimed at enhancing roles of universities and students as young generation to develop economy of Indonesia. “Thus, appraisal and coaching of the galleries are necessary so that the stock exchanges in the universities can benefit the students and clients,” he added.
Additionally, the investment of BEI of UMY has several facilities. First, the gallery provide all publication and printed materials of capital market published by Indonesia Stock Exchange including law of capital market. The information and data in the investment gallery can be employed by academicians for academic objectives. Second, the investment gallery of BEI of UMY shares information of capital market with students, economic practitioners, investors, and capital market observers. “Third, the investment gallery facilitates opening of stock account cooperating with securities companies,” he ended.
