Kapolda DIY Brigjen Pol Ahmad Dofirin espoused a public lecture by Dr. Zakir Naik that is conducted on April 3, 2017 at Sportorium of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY). The support was uttered in a hearing on Tuesday (21/3) at office of Kapolda DIY.

Ahmad stated that it is marvelous that UMY can invite Dr. Zakir Naik who has been well-known in the world. “It is hard to invite him (Dr. Zakir Naik). Many people all over the world would like to summon him to give public lecture. It is an honor for UMY to invite him,” expressed Ahmad.

Ahmad advised that UMY to ensure tight security. “UMY parties must secure the security of Dr. Zakir Naik since not all people agree with his thoughts. They may possess different principles,” stressed Ahmad.

He also suggested that UMY always coordinates with Polsek, Polres, and Polda. “We entirely support this public lecture, and we will assist the security because that is our duty,” said Ahmad.

Meanwhile, one of the organizing committee Muhammad Khaerudin Hamsin, Lc. Ph.D. told that the committee provides four doors. “Besides checking participants’ ticket, the committee will do security checking. They are not allowed to bring hazardous materials such as weapon. We also collaborate with Brimob to provide security outdoor to ensure that participants do not carry the stuffs,” mentioned Khaerudin.
