LP3M of UMY Facilitates a Ngestiharjo Official Selection

Office of Research, Publication, and Community Service (LP3M) of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY), together with village government of Ngestiharjo, Kasihan, Bantul, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta, conducted a selection of village official candidates and honorary staffs for period of 2019. The selection process took place in classrooms of Vocational Programs of UMY. Held on Saturday (23/2), the selection was followed by 40 participants.

Chief of Community Service Division of the LP3M Dr. Adhianty Nurjanah S.Sos., M.Si. stated that the selection was a contribution of UMY to improve quality of human resources and regional development. “UMY as the third party assists the independent selection process of Ngestiharjo officials and honorary staffs. Talking about education, village government chooses an educational institution to participate as a third party, and the officials of Ngestiharjo had landed their choice on UMY. The LP3M has partnered with some officials and organized similar events, but this selection is one of the greatest events,” continued Adhianty.

Besides, Adhianty maintained that UMY also prepared a selection team divided into several groups, namely governmental study, leadership technique, management, and communication. She also mentioned that there were 3 stages of the test, namely a written, interview, and computer operating practice test. She hoped that the selected village officials could execute their duties based on regional government regulations.

Meanwhile, Jumawan, Chief of Committee, explained that village government of Ngestiharjo and the LP3M had agreed to conduct the test at UMY. “We held a meeting with the headman, and decided to set up UMY as a test location. Then, we signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with UMY and arranged the test schedule,” informed Jumawan.

He added, “The selection was participated by officials of Pedukuhan 12 Sidorejo. Based on regional regulations, the selection comprised of two official candidates and 38 honorary staff candidates. Only six people and one person were selected for the honorary staffs and a headman, respectively. The selection process is strictly prepared  to reap qualified candidates.”
