It was pride of International Relations (HI) of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta because of being able to maintain the accreditation for four times respectively. The incredible occasion was not wasted away by academicians of HI UMY as students, lecturers, and staffs assisting HI UMY retain its existence in both national and international level. It was obviously not easy to sustain all of them. It needed a lot of preparation and improvement of academic and nonacademic field.

On a remark of Prof. Dr. Bambang Cipto, M.A., he told that he was very proud of the efforts of HI UMY to maintain the accreditation. “This is a remarkable achievement. It is necessary to give outstanding dedication to those who worked hard to obtain this accreditation,” he stated.

HI UMY has achieved ‘A’ accreditation since 2004, 2009, 2014, and 2015. The accreditation gained fully conviction of the team of accreditation agency. “Alhamdulillah, ‘A’ accreditation could be sustained. Moreover, this accreditation is granted without visitation. It turns the pride of ours because we could get trust from the assessor team,” told Dra. Nur Azizah, M.Si. on her speech.

Nur Azizah continued that a lot of aspects had been prepared as organizing accreditation team at the university helped by lecturers, staffs, and students. “Nevertheless, when we were arranging it, good news came that HI could maintain the accreditation without visitation. We need be grateful. Noticing attempts and several aspects dealing with achievement of lecturers and students, we deserve to achieve the accreditation. The duty is now how to sustain this accreditation and hold onto the belief of the assessor team,” she said.

Additionally, the same statement was conveyed by Dean of FISIPOL UMY Ali Muhammad, M.A., Ph.D. He was very gratified by the assessor’s trust because of granting accreditation without visitation. “As far as I know, HI in Indonesia accredited ‘A’ without visitation is only HI UMY and UNPAD. I feel absolutely pleased since it could be equal to university having high dedication in national and international level. It was not only lecturers and staffs who have significant roles, but also the students to advance HI UMY,” he asserted.

There would be huge duty for HI UMY to be able to foster quality of lecturers, students, and staffs. “It is necessary to boost students’ quality to exist in international area, improve lecturers’ education to continue their study abroad as well as expand their international journal, and elevate staffs’ skill, and give high dedication to HI UMY,” he advised.

On her last speech, Nur Azizah thanked to all parties for assisting and coaching the accreditation process. She also expressed her gratitude to Rector and his officials, university staffs, Dean of FISIPOL and his officials, HI’s lecturers, HI’s staffs, and students helping the accreditation process.
