Celebrating the eleventh anniversary, American Corner (Amcor) of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) organized an event of ‘The Eleventh Anniversary’. It was conducted on Friday (24/4) in Center Library, floor 2 at UMY. It was received a greeting from Ambassador of the US to Indonesia, Mr. Robert O. Blake, Jr.
On a video showed by the committee, Roebert thanked to Amcor UMY for the endeavor to manage American Corner. He expected that he could come to Amcor UMY again. “Thank you so much for all your wonderful work and congratulation on your eleventh anniversary. I do hope to be back there soon,” he stated.
Director of Amcor UMY Puthut Ardianto conveyed that he was glad and proud of being part of and cooperating with team of Amcor UMY. Even though they often face a lot of bittersweet circumstances, they do not get down and the challenges motivate them to be more successful. “We believe that Amcor UMY could create good learning community through organizing more dynamic activities. It is also hoped there would be great cooperation,” he uttered.
Commemorating the eleventh anniversary, Amcor UMY carried out video screening of Amcor UMY’s activities, blowing candle with Oktivane Sinaga and Endang Sri Nuryanti (Director of Information Resources Center US Embassy) through Skype, and launching a new logo of Amcor UMY. The event was also attended by Amcor UMY’s friends and volunteers. It was also enlivened by acoustic performance of a student group band of English Education Department, Language Education Faculty, UMY.
