Associate Degree Programs of UMY Collaborate with Three Hospitals and a Herbal Industry

Associate Degree Programs of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) always seek to be national leading programs in science and technology based on Islamic values to benefit people. To achieve the goal, the programs have tried to cooperate with government, industries, hospitals, and financial institutions in Indonesian and overseas.

On Saturday (13/10) at Graduate School of UMY, Director of the programs Dr, Bambang Jatmiko, S.E., M.Si. signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with RS PKU Muhammadiyah Gamping, RS Islam Yogyakarta PDHI, dan RS Nur Hidayah, and CV Green Zone Herbal. The MoU signing was also attended by chairperson and participants of International Islamic Medicine Foundation (IIMF) 2018.

Bambang stated that the MoU signing aimed to create networking for graduates of the programs. “I wish that that the MoU signing could bear link and match to enhance competencies and competitiveness of our students. Indeeed this MoU signing is due to our collaboration with the IIMF and we are responsible for providing the best for Islam and the people,” declared Bambang.

Besides the MoU signing, there was a public lecture discussing ‘Link & Match of Associate Degree Programs with Hospitals and CV Green Zone Herbal’ and how to foster students’ competencies and graduates’ competitiveness. Vice Rector for Academic Affairs of UMY Dr. Sukamta, S.T., M.T. expected that the associate degree programs could coin excellent graduates. “Students should be able to confront Industrial Revolution 4.0. and this lecture will embolden students’ competences,” he conveyed.

In addition, the other speakers at the lecture were a surgeon as well as Director of Nur Hidayah Hospital Dr. dr. Sagiran, Sp. B (K) KL, M.Kes. and an IIMF representative dr. Meity Elvina, M.Kes., Sp.OG, PG Cert.
