Department of Nursing of UMY Sends Volunteers to Lombok

Department of Nursing of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) sends four students and a supervisor to be volunteers in Lombok, Nusa Tenggara Barat. The volunteers will assist to recover psychology of disaster victims.

In an interview on Thursday (16/8) at Room 309 of Graduate School of UMY, Secretary of Department of Nursing of UMY Erna Rochmawati, Ns., MNSc., M.Med.Ed., Ph.D. stated, “They are nurses so that it is possible that they help physical management besides focusing on psychological recovery. One of the volunteers is from Nusa Tenggara Barat so that she know the location well.”

Erna also informed that Erna and the volunteers had coordinated with Muhammadiyah Disaster Management Center (MDMC) since the arrival of volunteers should be in line with needs of people of Lombok.

Additionally, all the volunteers will be placed in Tanjung, Lombok Utara that got the worst impacts of Lombok earthquake. They will depart on Thursday (16/8) from Adisutjipto International airport, Yogyakarta. They will stay in Lombok for a week.
