The Preparation for the 25th National Student Science Week has Reached 97.5%

The preparation for 25th National Student Science Week (PIMNAS) at Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) on Juli 9 – 14 has reached 97.5 percent. This can be seen from the preparation conducted by the organizing committee covering the accommodation for the participants, the venue, publication, and the food and beverage for the participants and also all the supporting parties of the event.

Sri Atmaja P. Rosyidi, Ph.D, the Vice Rector III and the Person in Charge in this 25th PIMNAS, stated at the PIMNAS secretariat at the Integrated Campus of UMY, on Saturday (07/07).

According to Sri, the 2000 participants, who will compete in this competition, will not get any difficulty to reach the venue of this 25th PIMNAS which will be held at the Integrated Campus of UMY located on South Ring road, Tamantirto, Kasihan, Bantul, Yogyakarta Special Province, since the committee has prepared several information centers to pick the participants up/meeting points at several points of transportation routes. “The arrival of the participants from their hometown has been calculated; thus, we already provide several important points to wait and accommodate the participants, namely at Jombor and Giwangan Terminals, Tugu Station and Lempuyangan Station, and Adisutjipto Airport. The information centers can also be found at each gate and also at several posts that have been marked around UMY campus,” he said.

Sri also added that the committee of the 25th PIMNAS also provides Online Registration for the participants. This online registration will make it easier for the participants, who come from far away or outside Java Island, since they do not have to do on-site registration. “This system will make it easier for the participants, who will compete in the 25th PIMNAS,” he explained.

At the same time, the Chairman of the Executive Committee of the 25th PIMNAS, Drs. Husni Amriyanto, explained that the preparation done by the committee is merely meant to embody the theme of the 25th PIMNAS, that is, Innovation Tradition to Build the Independent National Characters. “This theme becomes very relevant; thus, this PIMNAS will really become an event to increase the creativity and the intellectuality of the students. Therefore, the implementation should be done maximally,” he declared.

Husni hopes, that the preparation which has already reached 97.5 percent, will not only embody the theme of the 25th PIMNAS but also embody the triple success of the 25th PIMNAS, namely, “Successful in organizing the event as a good host, successful in gaining the achievement as participants, and successful in branding for UMY,” said Husni.
