Eros PENS Wins the Humanoid KRSBI

Indonesia Humanoid Soccer Robot Contest (Humanoid KRSBI) of Indonesia Robot Contest (KRI) 2018 ended on Friday (13/7). In a final of the Humanoid KRSBI, Eros from Politeknik Elektronika Negeri Surabaya (PENS) won over Barelang FC from Politeknik Negeri Batam (Polibatam) with the score 2-1. Besides winning the KRSBI 2018, Eros will represent Indonesia in an international robot contest, RoboCup in Australia on July 2019.

In the 20-minute match, Eros got defeated 1-0 by Barelang FC, but in the second round Eros could make two goals. A member of Eros Cipto Priambodo stated, “Alhamdulillah, we become the winner of the Humanoid KRSBI 2018. This achievement is a advancement after being a runner up in 2016 and 2017,” stated Cipto.

He admitted that his team was quite overwhelmed when having a match with Balerang FC. “Robots of Balerang FC was higher than ours so that the robots could move faster. However, we could take occasions in the second round so that we made two foals,” told Cipto. Indeed, preparation done by a laboratory of PENS for seven months was paid off.

Meanwhile, another Eros team member Rokhmat Febrianto said that after the KRI Eros will prepare for an international contest. “We will upgrade our robots, both hardware and programs. We will prepare for it well so that our performance in the international contest will not be disappointing,” maintained Rokhmat.

Additionally, a jury of the Humanoid KRSBI Dr. Ir. Endra Pitowarno revealed that the final match showed persistence of Eros and Barelang FC. “Even though Eros’ robots are older than those of other teams, they proved that persistence has an essential role. Indeed, sophisticated robots should be supported with endeavors to achieve what we hope,” he declared.
