First, the theme of the Indonesia ABU Robot Contest (KRAI) is quire unique, ‘Lempar Bola Berkah,’ adapting a theme of ABU Robocon to be held in Nihn-Binh, Vietnam in August 2018. The winner of the KRAI 2018 will represent Indonesia in Vietnam. Second, the Fire-Fighting Robot Contest (KRPAI) 2018 has a theme of ‘Robot Pemadam Api Berkaki’ in accordance with a theme decided by Trinity College International Robot Contest (TCIRC).
“Third, the theme of the KRSBI for the wheeled division is ‘Sepak Bola Robot Menuju Liga Sepakbola Robot Tahun 2050.’ Next, the theme of the KRSBI for humanoid division is ‘Liga Sepakbola Robot Humanoid Menuju Tahun 2050.’ As the previous KRI that combination technology and local wisdom of Indonesia is presented in the Indonesia Dance Robot Contest (KRSTI) 2018 with a theme of ‘Robot Penari Remo’, a traditional dance from Jombang, Jawa Timur,” mentioned Sri Atmaja.
Sri informed that each contest category has different mechanism. For instance, the KRAI uses two robots, a manual robot and an automatic robot. “The manual robot is controlled by humans to deliver a shuttlecock to the automatic robot. Then, the automatic robot will shoot the shuttlecock to three rings. If the shuttlecocks successfully goes through a ring, the team earns points. The winner is a team who gains the most point. However, if the golden shuttlecock is thrown through the Golden Ring and then is landed on the Golden Cup, the team will gain the victory and the match will be finished. The victory is called ‘Rong bay’,” he explained.
Meanwhile, the KRPAI utilizes an automatic robot moving to find flames to be extinguished. The winner is the fastest robot that can stop fires. The robot should also avoid a cat robot put as an obstacle. If the automatic robot contacts the cat robot, the team will get a penalty, and if the automatic robot goes past the cat robot, the automatic robot will be disqualified.
“Next, robots of the KRSBI for the humanoid division and the wheeled division are distinctive. A robot of the KRSBI for the wheeled division is square and has wheels, while a robot of the KRSBI for the humanoid division resembles the human body. The contest duration is also different, 2×25 minutes for the KRSBI for the humanoid division mad 2×15 minutes for the KRSBI for the wheeled division. The game procedures of both contests are almost similar that each team employed two robots and the team earns the most points win the game,” described Sri.
Additionally, the KRSTI uses two automatic robots. “Both robots will dance in line with musical sound for three minutes. The music is played using a sound detector sensor in a machine. The robot that can dance to the musical beat without constraints win the game,” told Sri who is also Director of Graduate School of UMY.
