Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) is mandated to be a host of a national event, Indonesia Robot Indonesia (KRI) 2018. The contest was commenced by the Indonesian Symposium on Robotic Systems and Control (ISRSC) on Tuesday (10/7) at Building of K.H. Ibrahim of UMY. Keynote speakers of the symposium were Dr. Eng, Ahda Imam Cahyadi, S.T., M.Eng. from Master of Engineering of Universitas Gadjah Mada and Widhi Krisna Kusuma from P.T. ABB Sakti Industri Robotics.
“Robotics is necessary in the future,” believed Widhi Krisna Kusuma. He told that in industries robots play essential roles in assisting humans so that humans do not necessarily carry out highly risky activities. Many industries have used robots to accomplish their duties. “The future is the present so that you, KRI participants, should possess vigor to collaborate in digital areas. I expect that humans can collaborate with robots rather than robots substitute humans,” he explained.
Meanwhile, Dr. Eng, Ahda Imam Cahyadi, S.T., M.Eng. stated that at the age of automation the number if workers decreased till 85 percent since in industrial revolution 4.0 robots replace humans’ responsibilities so that it can be more efficient. Nevertheless, he advised that we have to contribute to the development. “In industrial revolution 4.0, we may not only watch the development, but we should be the doers and parts of the development,” he emphasized.
The ISRSC was an occasion for university members, researchers, and industries in a robotics area in Indonesia to share and discuss various robotics issues and potential. Hence, participants of Indonesia Soccer Robot Contest (KRSBI) for the Humanoid Division and juries presented their papers at the ISRSC. The papers of the participants were also reviewed by experts based on their paper originality, significance, quality, and clarity. The best papers are published on the ISRSC proceeding.
