Faculty of Sharia of IAIN Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi conducted Job Training (KKL) at Social and Political Science Faculty of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogykarta on Monday (01/06). It aimed at having cooperation between two faculties, particularly Governmental Studies. Joining the field trip were 30 students of Governmental Studies of IAIN Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi.

Dean of FISIPOL UMY Ali Muhammad, Ph.D. delivered his remark and stated that the cooperation between both educational institutions was necessary. It is for developing both universities. “The cooperation is necessary since UMY is Islamic and Excellent University. A lot of cooperation should be fostered, particularly dealing with Memorandum of Understanding (MoU),” he uttered.

Moreover, Dean of Faculty of Sharia of IAIN Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi Dr. Bahrul Ulum conveyed that an educational institution might not be able to elevate without having cooperation with other universities. “So do we. Faculty of Sharia now possesses 72 lecturers and 2200 students and we now attempt to evolve it. We select UMY as for this KKL because FISIPOL UMY has excellent Governmental Studies that has similar Islamic-based.

Dr. Bahrul told that the MoU could support the development of Faculty of Sharia of IAIN Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi to achieve accreditation ‘B’. “Therefore, this field trip points at enhancing achievements of Faculty of Sharia of IAIN Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi, especially the Governmental Studies. And, it is the time for us to cooperate for the development,” Dr. Bahrul asserted.

Furthermore, there was MoU signing by Dean of Faculty of Sharia of IAIN Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi and Dean of FISIPOL UMY at meeting hall of A.R. Fachruddin A Floor 5. After the welcoming remark, there was a general lecturer of “Simultaneous Elections: Expectations and Challenges,” delivered by Head of Governmental Studies of UMY Dr. Suranto.
