Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) officially launched ‘Kafetaria UMY Unggul dan Islami,’ a cafetaria, in the ground floor of building of K.H. Ibrahim E7 on Tuesday (28/9). “The cafeteria arrangement have planned for long time, and Alhamdulillah it can be launched now,” stated Vice Rector for Finance and Assets Dr. Suryo Pratolo, S.E., M.Si., Ak., Ca in the launching.
Suryo also described the cafeteria. There are boards displaying pictures of foods offered in the cafeteria and stalls in the edges of the cafeteria. Indeed, people may rent the stalls should be active members of Muhammadiyah (PCM or PWM) and the sold food is well done. “The offered food is cooled and the seller just needs to heat the food,” informed Suryo.
He mentioned that UMY will build another cafeteria for students in buildings of Faculty of Engineering, and it will have a different concept. “We may use a concept of a park,” he told.
“I wish that this cafeteria could also be an effort to embody a tagline of UMY ‘Unggul dan Islami’ (Leading and Lightening,” expected Suryo.
In addition, the cafeteria was officially inaugurated by a member of Board of Trustees of UMY Drs. H. Sholeh. The inauguration was also attended by lecturers and staffs of UMY and they could test the food for free as the promotion.
