Technical Meeting of Indonesia Fire Fighting Robot Contest (KRPAI) 2015 for wheeled and walking division was conducted on Friday (12/6) at meeting hall of A.R. Fachruddin A, Floor 5. It was the last preparation for explanation of contest regulations. Attending the technical meeting were 50 teams of KRPAI for wheeled and walking division. Nevertheless, two teams of University of Hasanuddin, Makassar did not attend yet.
A person in charge of technical meeting of KRPAI 2015 Heru Santoso stated that one of several aspects which might cause the teams disqualified is that they do not play fairly. “We have to be fair since fair play is the key of success,” said Heru.
Furthermore, KRPAI is a robot contest that each team is required to find and fight fire as soon as possible.”The robot should also pass accessories of blockages in one of the rooms at the contest stage. Thus, it is the challenge,” Heru continued.
Dealing with the mark, each robot should firstly fight fire in his area, and then fight fire of their opponent. Each extinguished candle would get mark 5. “However, when the robot rolls for 10 seconds, the robot have to go out from the contest area and wait for 30 seconds to start again,” explained Heru.
According to Heru, the robot ought to be in line with the required size and weight. The robot should be maximally 31 cm x 31 cm x 27 cm for wheeled and walking division. Another scoring system us the switch-on button should put in minimally 2 cm from the highest point of the robot body. “Moreover, teams are prohibited to use wireless communication device on the robot body even though they do not employ it,” he elucidated.
Furthermore, KRPAI 2014 a team of Politeknik Elektrika Negeri Surabaya achieved the winner. The team represented Indonesia in the international robot contest ‘Trinity College Fire Fighting Home Robot Contest 2014’ at Trinity College, Hartford, Connecticut, the United States, and successfully achieved the winner, the runner up, and the second runner up.
