The government continues to support researchers by creating programs in every field, both educative or otherwise. The funds used for research proposals are not cheap, which means that the researcher needs to use the funds given to them as best they can. To that end, in the 2020-2022 research proposal selection hosted by the Directory of Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education’s Directorate of Research and Social Services, Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta’s Office of Research, Publication, and Social Services (LP3M UMY) hosted a Research and Public Service Grant Proposal for DRPM Consignment on 14th and 15th of August 2019 in Pesonna Hotel, Yogyakarta.

Meanwhile, Dr. Ir. Gunawan Budiyanto, the Rector of UMY, stated that the UMY researchers’ instrument of success is the number of funded proposals and the increasing number of topics the researchers have covered. In addition, good research needs to be continued to secure a patent.
“The main obstacle for UMY researchers is time management. Researchers need to divide their time between teaching, helping students, and research. However, this can be solved by creating a year-long time schedule so each activity will not overlap with each other,” he added.
Dr. Ir. Gatot Supangkat, M.P, the head of LP3M UMY, stated that this event can hopefully the increase of UMY researchers’ proposal quality and quantity. “A good research means a good output.
