LPTQ UMY Prepares 14 Participants for National MTQ XIV

It is the third time for Qur’an-Reciting Development Board (LPTQ) of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) to send top 14 participants in national level of Musabaqa Tilawatil Qur’an (MTQ) XIV (national reciting Qur’an competition) on 1-8 August 2015 at University of Indonesia (UI), Depok.

The 14 participants would represent 7 competition categories, namely Nisful Fahim from Civil Engineering for tilawah (reciting) category; Munandar and Endah Dian Ariani from Laws as well as Muhammad Hatta Gusman from Civil Engineering for Syahril category; Putri Ida Rafika from Arabic Education Department and Rumaisha Qoidatus Syahidah from International Relations for Arabic debate category; Muhammad Dedy Yanuar and Asep Suryana from International Relations for English debate category; Slma Karimah and Munifah Ashlihati from Medical Department for hifzil category; Latif Ismail and M. Iqbal from International Relation as well as Muhammad Amin Khizbullah from Arabic Education Department for fahmil category; and Vebry Arbianti Mustafa from Accounting Department for calligraphy category.

Heas of LPTQ UMY Ary Asy’ari stated that the participants passed reciting Qur’an competition at UMY organized by LPTQ UMY. Each faculty was required to send participants to be selected to join MTQ. “We conducted reciting Qur’an competition at UMY last year. We select the winner,” he told in an interview on Thursday (23/6) at ground of the mosque of K.H. Ahmad Dahlan UMY.

The participants were drilled and supervised by the expert. Ary informed that the participants have had a practice on Saturdays after ashar since May. They were supervised by the experts as a national qori’ Ustd. Irfan for tilawah category; Ust. Waiz, joining national MTQ in Padang last year, for, for syahril category; Ustd. Ridwan, winning national MTQ in Makkasar, for Arabic debate category. “Ustd. Maulana supervises English debate, Utsd. Fauzi supervises hifzil category, a lecturer of UIN Ustd. Al-Ma’arif supervises fahmil category, and Ustd. Huda, who won calligraphy competition, supervises calligraphy category. Besides, the participants also undertake autonomous practice and Insya Allah it is regular,” he mentioned.

Ary continues that participants of MTQ were prepared mentally. “Before they depart on 27 July, participants must join quarantine. It aims at preparing their mental since it is the most essential. In addition, LPTQ committee invited motivators to motivates and train their mental,” he elucidated.

The 14 participants would represent UMY in national MTQ organized by Ministry of Research and Technology and Directorate of Higher Education (DIKTI) of the Republic of Indonesia. They would also be accompanied by four officials, namely an advisor of LPTQ Miftahul Haq S.H.I., M.S.I., Head of Islamic Study and Development Board (LPPI) Muhammad Khaeruddin Hamsin, H., Lc., LL.M., Ph.D, Head of LPTQ Ary Asy’ari, and Head of Tilawatil Qur’an Sutan Kumala Pontas.
