Enhancing quality of Indonesian mechanical engineering lecturers, Mechanical Engineering Cooperation Board (BKSTM) selected Department of Mechanical Engineering of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) as the host of Autodesk Inventor. Engineering of UMY cooperated with a multinational company of Autodesk Education to be the speaker.
The aforementioned paragraph was uttered by chief of committee Novi Caroko, S.T. M.M., in an interview by a journalist of Public Relation and Protocol of UMY on Friday (5/6) at Computer Laboratory of Engineering Faculty of UMY. Novi inserted at the event was for engineering lecturers and aimed at fostering quality of mechanical engineering lecturers in picture mechanical design by software of Autodesk Inventor.
“The event is Training of Training, a training for mechanical engineering lecturers. It points at giving mechanical engineering lecturers knowledge of picture and engine design,” he stated.
According to Novi, Head of Engineering Department of UMU, the Autodesk Inventor training was essential for mechanical engineering students in designing engine, either picture or engine design itself. Therefore, Novi expected that the lecturers would share the knowledge to their students. “I hope that, after the event, the lecturers could implement the knowledge at class,” he added.
Moreover, Novi contended that joining the training were mechanical engineering lecturers of UMY and engineering lecturers incorporated as the members of Mechanical Engineering Cooperation Board (BKSTM): University of Brawijaya, University of Lampung, University of Sriwijaya, University of Taduka Palu, University of Banjarmasin, and other universities.
The training, Novi continued, would be conducted for three days, from Wednesday to Friday (3-5/6), and would be organized again in Malang and Bali. Besides the training for lecturers, seminar of Autodesk would be held for mechanical engineering students of UMY today, Saturday (6/6), at Stadium General of Engineering Faculty of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta.
