Most participants of Indonesian Robot Contest (KRI) 2015 have come to Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogykarta (UMY). They come from various areas in Indonesia, from Medan to Manado. They would compete in four contest categories, namely Indonesia ABU Robot Contest (KRAI),Indonesia Soccer Robot Contest (KRSBI), Indonesia Art Robot Contest (KRSI),and Indonesia Fire Fighting Robot Contest (KKRPAI). The venue of KRI 2015 is at Sportorium of UMY from 11 to 14 June 2015.

The furthest area of participants is Medan, exactly from Sekolah Tinggi Teknik Poliprofesi. Chief of the team Safarul Ilham stated that his team departed from Medan on Wednesday evening (10/6) by plane from Kualanamu airport. His two friends, his supervisor, and he were picked up by a bus provided by UMY functioning picking participants up from Adi Sucipto Airport.

“We are glad to have the service from UMY. The people are kind and helpful,” Ilham admitted. His team named Ganbatte Frr visited Jogja for the first time. They were impressed by environment of Yogyakarta which is comfortable and tidy. “Alhamdulillah, I do not encounter culture shock in Yogyakarta since I am also Javanese offspring,” told Ilham.

Ganbatte Frr would join Indonesia Fire Fighting Robot Contest (KRPAI) for wheeled division. The preparation of the team has been 100%. “Alhamdulillah, we are ready. We just need to have exercises,” Ilham informed.

The obstacle, Ilham continued, is on the robot sensor for respond rapidly to fire. “We compete in wheeled KRPAI so that we ought to ensure that the sensor is sensitive to fight fire since KRPAI aims at fighting fire fast,” Ilham elucidated.

Moreover, Ilham expected that his team would be the winner. They are eager to make their university proud since the university has supported them 100% to join the contest. “We hope that we could be the winner in this contest so that we could make our university proud,” Ilham ended.
