Judges possess an essential role in a contest since they are the decision makers of the winner. Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) as the host of Indonesian Robot Contest (KRI) 2015 notices the significance and has prepared it. Preparation of judges is dealing with not only physical preparation but also scoring system. “For the judges, it has been prepared. There were 5 contests of 5 areas that the best judges were selected and proposed in national contest. Then, we attempt to foster what occurred in regional contests. The preparation has been 80%,” informed Ir. Wahid Wahab, M.Sc., Ph.D. as Chief of Judges of KRI 2015 in an interview on Wednesday (4/6) at A.R. Fachruddin A, Floor 5, UMY.
Ir. Wahidin inserted that there would be 10 judges from Universities in Indonesia. They are Ir. Wahidin himself as the chief, Prof. Dr. Benyamin Kusumo Putro M.Sc from University of Indonesia (UI), Dr. Ir. Endra Pitowarno as Deputy Chief of KRSBI, and Ir. Gigih Prabowo, M.T. as Deputy Chief of KRSI form Politeknik Elektronika Negeri Surabaya (PENS). “There are also Ir. Heru Santoso Budi Rochardjo M.Eng., Ph.D from Gajah Mada University (UGM), Dr. Kusprasapta Mutiyarsa and Ir. Indrawanto Ph.D. from Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), Prof. Dr. Ir. Mauridhi Hery Purnomo M. Eng and Dr. Ir. Djoko Purwanto M. Eng from Sepuluh November Institute of Technology (ITS), and Dr. Eril Mozef, M.S. from Politeknik Negeri Bandung (POLBAN),” he continued.
Each scoring system has its own method. “Scoring system of Indonesia ABU Robot Contest (KRAI) is similar with a badminton game that who has the highest score would be the winner. The game duration is 4-8 minutes and the system is double group. For Indonesia Fire Fighting Robot Contest (KKRPAI), the team fighting the greatest amount of fire would be the winner. The KKRPAI would utilize candles settled randomly,” he stated.
Moreover, Ir. Wahidin elucidated that the scoring system of Indonesia Soccer Robot Contest (KRSBI) is the same as a soccer game. “Hence, the team making the greatest number of goals would be the winner. In this category, each team would have 2-3 robots and the game would take 20 minutes. As I told that it is similar with the real game, there would be penalty if the score is equal,” he conveyed.
On contrast, Indonesia Art Robot Contest (KRSI) is distinct from the three aforementioned robot contests. There would be 2 robots in this contest since the theme is “Tarian Bambangan Cakil” that there must be 2 dancers. The robots would dance together. Therefore, the dance movement should be in line with the music. Besides, it would also consider the robot ability to detect hand claps of audience. Thus, in the end of the dance and music, the robots would part to the audience,” he ended.
