Strengthening Standardization, UMY Collaborates with LSP of PT Quantum HRM International and BSN

Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) always seeks to enhance students’ and graduates’ quality. One of the efforts is the university has issued the Degree Certificate Supplement (SKPI) since 2017. Besides, UMY collaborates with Person Certification Office of (LSP) of PT Quantum HRM Internasional and National Standardization Agency (BSN). The cooperation enables UMY students to take a competency test at the two institutions and the result can be mentioned on the SKPI that they can use it to apply for jobs.

In an International Standardization Promotion and MoU Signing among UMY, LSP Quantum HRM Internasional and BSN on Monday (16/4) at A.R. Fachruddin of UMY, Rector of UMY Dr. Ir. Gunawan Budiyanto, M.P. expected that the SKPI could provide detail capabilities possessed by UMY graduates.

Attended by UMY managements and lecturers, Gunawan also stated that the MoU signing is essential to raise public trust to academic processes at UMY. Indeed, the standardization is also a demand of companies and institutions. Thus, the cooperation will be followed up by training of ISO (International Organization for Standardization).

Meanwhile, Head of BSN Prof. Dr. Ir. Bambang Prasetya, M.Sc. welcomed the collaboration between UMY and BSN. “It becomes students’ knowledge of competency standardization when they work. The standardization comprises of lecturers’ certification and student’ competency standardization,” he declared.

Bambang told that it was the sixth cooperation between UMY and the BSN, and will be continued by training and cooperation in management systems to boost lecturers’ and students’ performance.

In addition, a founder of LSP Quantum HRM Internasional Prof. Dr. Ir. Pribadijono, M.S. said that UMY has highly intellectual Muslim cadres and academic reputation. “Talking about the standardization, we have to standardize all aspects such as the ‘face, ‘body’, facilities, and human resources,” he mentioned.

Pronadijono also hoped that the cooperation runs well and UMY can be a trigger for other Indonesian private universities and show examples of standardization and graduates.
