Some students might encounter a number of problems in accomplishing a ‘skripsi’ or an undergraduate thesis. Students of Governmental Studies (IP) of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) coined a community in completing their undergraduate thesis, so-called ‘Klinik Skripsi’, on Wednesday (20/5) in Mini Theater, Building D, Floor 4. Attending the community declaration were Head of IP UMY Dr. Suranto, lecturer representatives, and students of IP batch 2012.
Singgih Dwikaro, chief of the event, stated that the declaration was a notion of students batch 2012 who have been writing their undergraduate thesis. The community aimed at easing students to accomplish writing the undergraduate thesis, gaining references, and sharing information as well as knowledge. “It is expected that the klinik skripsi would alleviate students to work on their undergraduate thesis and there would no more students who are frightened of finishing it,” he hoped.
That the number of graduated students was not equal to the number of new students occasionally turned a problem of the department to handle. In fact, the students who have not graduated yet often confronted a number of issues to accomplishing their undergraduate thesis.
On a remark, Dr. Suranto uttered that the department entirely encouraged the activity and would facilitate cozy rooms for the students. There would also be provided a coaching of lecturers. “It is hoped that the kilinik skripsi could assist students accomplishing their undergraduate thesis. It is also necessary the synergy among students and lecturers,” he asserted.
