New government could hopefully enhance economy public welfare-based economy through inviting and mentoring roles of private members in increasing food sector. The main solution should be improving food sector focusing on agricultural sector.
It was the major point written on a scientific article by students of Department of Economics UMY who was the runner-up of Lomba Karya Tulis Ilmiah (LKTI) or Scientific Writing Competition 2014. The theme of this competition was “Menuju Indonesia Berdaulat Ekonomi” (Indonesia Goes to Sovereign Economy). It was conducted by Ikatan Mahasiswa Ekonomi Pembanguan Indonesia (IMEPI) or Community of Indonesian Development Economics Students taking place in Surakarta State University, Solo, on the 9th of November 2014.
The scientific article, entitled “Optimalisasi Peran Stakeholder Melalui Konsep Trickle Down Effect Menuju Kedaulatan Sector Pangan” (Optimizing Stakeholders’ Roles through a Concept of Trickle Down Effect to Go to Sovereignty of Food Sector), discussed a concept to elevate the number of farmers in limited farms. The solution was creating a farm on a building, or so-called Skyline. The article explained and gave an answer of the low empowerment in agricultural sector which aimed at lifting independent economy in Indonesia.
The accomplishment of this scientific article written by Fadli Yashari and Triwahyuni, students of Department of Economics UMY year 2013, affected the host election of IMEPI congress 2016. As the result, UMY was chosen through the acclamation of a host election meeting of LKTI congress 2016.
On Thursday (11/11) in Department of Economics UMY, Fadli said that the runner-up-winning article in National LKTI 2014 could contribute to develop this nation through a written notion. Hence, it could be followed up to the government, and there would be a continuous research to assess the effectiveness of the idea.
“We are proud of being able to be the name of UMY. We hope that this work would not just be appreciated by the committee, but we are willing to a next action to the government to develop this country. I, myself, hope that there will be further research to measure the effectiveness of the notion presented on the article,” he stated.
Fadli added that being the runner-up of LKTI brought UMY to be the host of IMEPI congress 2016. On the other word, UMY would make a history as the first private university being the host of yearly IMEPI congress.
“Because of achieving award of scientific writing, in the host election meeting of IMEPI congress 2016, UMY was chosen by the committee with acclamation and won the vote of host election of IMEPI 2016. Hence, UMY will be the first private university organizing the coming IMEPI in 2016,” he told. (Shidqi)
