An Islamic student club, Al-Anhar, (UKI JAA) of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) conducted a competition of Al-Qur’an Education on Sunday (19/3). It was the second competition included in an annual event of JAA Fair, and joined by 4-year-old to 12-year-old children.
The competition comprised of tahfidz (Al-Qur’an memorization) competition, adzan competition, and pildacil (speech competition). The winners of each competition were awarded by a certificate, trophy, and a rotating trophy of Rector ofUMY. Indeed, the event was designed under the theme ‘Building Intellectual Generation through Reciting Al-Quran.
Rector of UMY Dr. Ir. Gunawan Budiyanto, M.P., on his remark, stated that the event is a mean of educating children to be next Islamic generation loving Al-Qur’an. “Educating how to maintain Islamic forums and good relationship will benefit the Islamic children and will enable them to be good at reciting Al-Qur’an,” he declared.
Holding at Masjid K.H. Ahmad Dahlan of UMY, the competition is expected to be organized annually and be better.
