Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta would send outstanding lecturers and staffs to umroh in Mecca. “Insya Allah big family of UMY would go to umroh for two weeks, on 14-25 January 2015,” explained Drs. Gita Danupranata, M.M. as Head of Human Resource office of UMY in the opening of Umroh Release of UMY’s Big Family on Thursday (6/1) in A.R. Fachruddin A, Floor 5.
It was also Drs. H. Rosyad Sholeh as the Head of BPH UMY greeting the pilgrims of UMY’s big family. In the occasion, Rosyad conveyed that they could be devout in worshiping and devote their time as well as possible. “Umroh is not a visit to an usual tourism place, but umroh refers to going to holy land. I pray that all pilgrims would be provided ease, smoothness, health, and safety during either the trip or worship,” he expected.
In the place, Prof. Dr. Bambang Cipto, M.A. as Rector of UMY uttered that umroh pilgrims could take advantages of this opportunity, and he also reminded that every movement during umroh has religious value. “Tawaf movement, being considered as ordinary movement, the clockwise movement means that Allah requires to always move and reach achievement. Use this chance as good as possible because you are the chosen ones who get the occasion to worship and visit the holy land. I expect that, after going back from the holy land, you could work better,” he wished.
Umroh reward given to lecturers and staffs was a new program. A previous reward, awarded by UMY to the outstanding lecturers and staffs, was hajj. Nevertheless, because it needs long time to hajj departure, the university policy changed the reward of hajj to umroh since it did not take much time. Moreover, it could be many quotas for umroh.
