UMY Becomes Top 5 Private Institutions at PIMNAS 2018

Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) became a university with the highest ratio, 24 percent, that students’ proposals were funded by Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education (Kemenristekdikti) of the Republic of Indonesia (UMY) at PIMNAS 31. Besides, UMY ranked 4 among private higher education institutions and 16 among all higher education institutions at the PIMNAS.

A press release on 14/9 mentioned that UMY gained three achievements at the PIMNAS conducted on 28 August-3 September at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY).

First, a presentation entitled ‘KOMPOR ALAI – Kompor Anti Lalai’ by a team of Abdi Bagas Utomo achieved a bronze medal at the PKM-Karsa Cipta. KOMPOR ALAI was an innovation of a smart stove to prevent fires due to negligence of not turning off the stove and gas leak.

Second, a poster entitled ‘MIMI SEHAT’ by a team of Suharli obtained a bronze medal at the PKM-Teknologi. The MIMI SEHAT was a smart mattress to avert patients from pressure sores.

Last, a presentation by a team of Sayida Ralia M. W. entitled ‘SETUAN – Sepatu All in One’ achieved the most favorite class presentation. The SETUAN is shoes utilizing waste of Yogyakarta lurik as a souvenir of Yogyakarta.
