UMY Collaborating with Kemenristekdikti Conducts a Workshop to Enhance Research Proposal Quality

Office of Research, Publication, and Community Service (LP3M) of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) collaborating with Directorate of Research and Community Service of Directorate General of Research and Development of Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education (Kemenristekdikti) conducted a workshop to enhance the quality of research proposals for an applied research program. Held on Wednesday (4/4) at Grand Zuri Hotel, the participants were from various universities in Yogyakarta. Through the workshop, they were expected to write international-standardized research.

Director of Research and Community Service Ocky Karna Radjasa  stated that the research proposal should be improved to be able to compete in international levels. Indeed, after carrying out the research, the researchers are obliged to organize a seminar to present their research findings and to give tangible contribution to education, industries, and research center. “Besides, Kemenristekdikti will supervise selected researchers. The supervision will begin in June 2018 and end in September 2019,” he declared.

Meanwhile, Rector of UMY Dr. Ir. Gunawan Budiyanto, M.P. expected that researchers could leverage the program. “The researchers also achieve grants about 5 to 125 million rupiahs for doing the research. Thus, all the researchers should take advantages of this workshop,” he emphasized.

Gunawan added that the grants from the government could boost academicians to conduct research. “Hence, we wish that 85 percent of workshop participants’ research could pass the selection process.

In addition, UMY becomes a university sending the most representatives in the workshop, namely six lecturers.
