‘Bank Sampah’ (Waste Bank) is a collective system of waste management which aims to overcome environmental problems using a community-based management. Departing from the circumstance, a team of lecturers of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) conducted website management training for a waste bank in Kradenan, Gamping, Sleman, Yogyakarta on Saturday (20/4).
The training was organized by two lecturers of UMY, Dr. Adhianty Nurjanah, S.Sosi., M.Si. and Muhammad Sakir. They held the training at Laboratory of Department of Governmental Studies of UMY. The program theme was ‘Website Management Training for Waste Bank Organizers in Kradenan’.
According to Adhianty, the training was a part of community service to develop the management of Waste Bank in Kradenan. She continued, “The management of Waste Bank that we conduct uses an online-based technology. We also created a website called dynamic and interactive Waste Bank of Kradenan. Hopefully the waste bank in Kradenan can continue to evolve.”
Adhianty added that the production of online website hopefully will provide communicative information for the people. “Besides, as a place to render information, we also hope that the website will be a means to promote the waste bank of Kradenan. As a promotion medium, the website can attract people to deposit and become a client of the waste bank,” maintained Adhianty.
Head of the waste bank in Kradenan, Kaharyanto expressed his gratitude to the lecturers of UMY. “We are grateful to the lecturers and all UMY communities who have conducted the community service in Kradenan. The training is very useful and we hope to continue cooperation with UMY in near future. We also hope that our waste bank in Kradenan will be more developed,” ended Kaharyanto.
