Improving the economy is a major concern for Muhammadiyah, in accordance with the results of deliberations at the 47th Muhammadiyah Congress regarding the three pillars of Muhammadiyah, namely education, health and economy. Therefore, Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta helped improve Muhammadiyah members through the Muhammadiyah Regional Leadership of Yogyakarta City through entrepreneurship training and simultaneous funding assistance of 50 million Rupiah which was given on Saturday (19/9) at AR Fakhruddin A Building, UMY Central Campus.
The provision of this assistance was ceremonially given by the Rector of UMY, Dr. Gunawan Budiyanto, MP., IPM to the Yogyakarta City Regional Leadership Economic and Entrepreneurship Council. “This stimulant assistance of 50 million is a fund given to PDM in order to improve the economy through entrepreneurial capital and funds. This is also a form of benefit funds given from UMY for Muhammadiyah residents of Yogyakarta City,” he said.
Dr. Suryo Pratolo., S.E., M.Si., Ak., CA., AAP-A provides entrepreneurial motivation to members of the branch and sub-branch leadership in Yogyakarta City regarding economic independence. “It should be noted that the main concern for Muhammadiyah at this time is the existence of three pillars, namely the pillar of education, the pillar of health and the pillar of the economy related to economic independence for Muhammadiyah members. This is related to the economic independence of the people which is the responsibility of all components of society, “he explained.
Suryo also explained the foundation of economic independence through entrepreneurship based on Surah Ar-Ra’du verse 11 and Al-Maidah verse 2. “As explained in Surah Ar-Ra’du verse 11, Allah does not change the condition of a people until they change their situation. . In this case, if it is related to economic independence, we cannot change for the better if we do not start with our intention to change our destiny through selling or entrepreneurship. Furthermore, it is also important to help each other to improve the economy between communities, especially Muhammadiyah members, as explained in Al-Maidah Paragraph 2, “he concluded. (Sofia)
