A Government Science lecturer from Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (IP UMY) became a facilitator in the Workshop on Capacity Building for Village Officials held by the Village Government of Sumberarum, Sleman, on Thursday (13/8).
“This event aims to provide provisions for new and old village government officials so they are better prepared to serve the community,” said Sanaja, Head of Sumberarum Village.
On that occasion, Dr. Suswanta, M.Si, Lecturer of IP UMY, conveyed motivational speeches and materials to support the Sumberarum Village government officials who attended the workshop.
“As members of the village’s governing body, like it or not, you have to serve the community as well as possible, including in attitude,” said the Head of the UMY Government Science Masters Study Program.
Suswanta further explained that as a village government employee, one must be able to see a problem from various points of view. In addition, the village government must always be committed to providing the best service to the community.
According to Suswanta, there are three important things needed to foster enthusiasm in serving the community, namely believing in one’s potential, looking outside the comfort zone, and being able to work together.
Suswanta said that the situation will continue to change, so village government officials must always try to adapt to these changes. “Starting a new habit is difficult, but like it or not, if you have to, then you must do it,” he concluded.
