UMY KKN 027 Develops UMKM Go Digital during this Pandemic

As a form of community service for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (UMKM), Community Service Team 027 (KKN) of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) conducted community service at the Peci Songkok Subhan Nur production house. This UMKM is located in Bandung Village, RT 03 RW 01, Kebumen District, Kebumen Regency, Central Java. This service activity lasted from July to August 2020.

“The purpose of this KKN is to improve the skills of producers in developing Subhan Nur’s business of songkok caps and develop ways of managing business finances effectively and efficiently through digital technology,” explained Dicky Gunawan, head of KKN 027 on Tuesday (18/08).

Dicky Gunawan added that the target of this KKN is to develop MSMEs through the development of digital marketing and other fields that are in accordance with the needs of MSMEs, especially now that many MSMEs need assistance to be able to develop. The KKN process was accompanied by Dr. Fajar Junaedi, from the UMY Communication Study Program, as a Field Supervisor (DPL).

There are 7 (seven) students who are involved in KKN activities from various faculties and study programs at UMY. The KKN which is coordinated by the UMY Research, Publication and Community Service Institute (LP3M) is an implementation of UMY’s National Catur Dharma in the field of community service during the pandemic. As we know, many MSMEs have been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Incidentally, all KKN participants are from Kebumen, so this is also a form of our contribution to our hometown,” concluded Dicky Gunawan.
