Family Day is one of the event series to commemorate the 38th anniversary of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY). Conducted on Thursday (7/3) around Sportorium of UMY, the university members looked enthusiastic.
A coordinator of Family Day Muhammad Zakiy Ishak, SEI, M.Sc. informed that the Family Day comprised of several activities. “First, we have Color Run. Second, we provide a stage that participants of the Family Day can perform. Third, we open bazaars whose sellers are students and people near UMY. Fourth, we serve a playground for children. Fifth, we organized a fishing competition. Last, we also give groceries for 300 people near UMY,” mentioned Zakiy,
He added that the number of participants were greater than previous years. “The participants are UMY staffs, lecturers, students, alumni, and family of UMY academicians. We furnish 2,000 t-shirts. The number is the highest among participants at previous Family Days,” asserted Zakiy.
He also expected that the Family Day could reinforce relationship among UMY members. “Raising a theme of Millennial and Global, many university members are attracted to the event since it offers entertainment. This event make us get closer one another,” expressed Zakiy.
