Publication is important for academics in order to build reputation and international relations. In this regard, the Nursing Master Program of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) held a Comprehensive Systematic Review training together with Dr. Richard Wiechula, senior lecturer at Adelaide Nursing School, Australia.
The training program, which will be attended by a number of lecturers from the Nursing Masters Study Program and several other health science groups, will run for four days from Monday (17/2) to Thursday (20/2). The training program was opened with remarks from the Head of Nursing Masters Program, Fitri Arofiati, S.Kep., Ns., MAN., Ph.D. In her remarks, she revealed that the purpose of the training program was to further increase the number and quality of publications by academics. In addition, she also hopes that after this training, the lecturers will become more active in conducting publications.
Systematic Review is one of the methods used to conduct research before publication. According to Dr. Richard Wiechula, Systematic Review an important method for academics. “Systematic Review is important because it can provide the best evidence in conducting research. In addition, academics can also improve their skills in terms of research,” he said.
Dr. Richard also expressed his hope that after this training the participants who already had high enthusiasm could prepare themselves to do publications or even join his research projects. (ays)
