The Yogyakarta GenRe Ambassador Selection 2020 is a program initiated by the Yogyakarta Special Region BKKBN to select teenagers and students to become role models in the upcoming Golden Generation of Indonesia. In the 2020 GenRe Ambassador Election for Yogyakarta, Anggita Nopita Sari became a student representative from the Pharmacy Study Program of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (FKIK UMY) and became the Favorite Champion for Putri Duta GenRe DIY 2020 which took place in May-September 2020.
Anggita Nopita Sari, a student of the Pharmacy Study Program from batch 2019 said that in the 2020 GenRe DIY election, she was also a representative of the UMY FKIK Student Activity Unit, Jari Mulia. As a representative of students who focus on health problems, which is one of the GenRe programs, She focuses on the issues of HIV/AIDS. “I joined this year’s Duta GenRe DIY competition because of the encouragement I received from the Faculty Student Activity Unit (UKM-F), Jari Mulia. Jari Mulia UKM-F is a forum that helps students as the younger generation to go through the transitional period and as a form of education that we do to the younger generation related to health problems, one of which is HIV/AIDS,” she explained when contacted on Thursday (8/10). .
Next, Anggita explained the idea that brought her to the Grand Final stage which was held on September 19 at the Grand Dafam Rohan Hotel Yogyakarta. “The idea I suggested to the Duta GenRe election was an external visit titled “GenRe Merangkul”. The “GenRe Merangkul” activity would be carried out by involving and visiting the KB or PIK-M (Student Counseling Information Center) and PIK-R (Youth Counseling Information Center) of the villages in DIY. They will hold sharings session to exchange ideas about the GenRe forum and carry the hopes of the BKKBN to the younger generation,” she explained.
Anggita also conveyed her idea to make attractive content on social media to educate and introduce the importance of preparing the golden generation of 2021. “80 percent of today’s young generation uses social media in their daily lives. So I want to educate the younger generation through social media, for example about the consequences of early marriage or problems among teenagers today. I will collaborate with the GenRe and BKKBN forums to support the promotion of the content I create. We will target PLWHA and disabled survivors to receive education through social media content, “explained Anggita again.
Anggita added that the selection process carried out by the DIY BKKBN was carried out online and in accordance with health protocols considering that the COVID-19 outbreak is still spreading in Indonesia, especially in Yogyakarta. In this election, she had to compete with 120 other participants to become a Duta GenRe DIY Ambassador and she succeeded in becoming the Favorite Champion in the 2020 Duta GenRe DIY Selection. Her qualities that were assessed included the training process, provisioning, creativity during quarantine, participation and activity carried out during quarantine or through social media.
“Through this activity, I hope that I can contribute to the lives of the younger generation so that they become better, and all teenagers should be aware of the importance of a generation with plans for the future. One of them is through the GenRe and BKKBN forums,” Anggita concluded. (sofia)
