UMY Received a CSR Award from the Bantul Regency Government for Continuing to Commit to the Prosperity of the People

Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta received a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) award from the Bantul Regency Government on Tuesday (4/8). UMY is one of several stakeholders considered to have contributed to the implementation of community development and empowerment in the Bantul Regency area in 2019.

Regent of Bantul, Drs. H. Suharsono stated that this CSR award is carried out annually to give appreciation to those who have contributed to advancing the community and the Bantul area. “This CSR is indeed given annually to companies or institutions for their participation in providing assistance funds in an effort to improve the welfare of the community in Bantul Regency. We appreciate the assistance that has been given and are very grateful for helping me in advancing Bantul Regency, which is also my birthplace,” he said at the award ceremony at the Regent’s Office.

Suharsono also hopes that more companies, institutions or other parties will cooperate in the development of Bantul Regency. “Hopefully the CSR will help with the in the development of Bantul Regency towards the realization of a healthy, intelligent and prosperous Bantul society based on religious, humanitarian and national values within the unitary state of the Republic of Indonesia. Hopefully, our intentions can become acts of worship that are recorded by Allah SWT,” he continued.

UMY has proven itself committed to providing benefits and prospering the people This is as stated in its mission, which is to play a role as the center for Muhammadiyah development to prosper and educate the people. In this case, the manifestation of the mission is to provide assistance to Muhammadiyah charities in the Bantul Regency area.

“UMY has an institutional zakat program, which targets schools, mosques, or other Muhammadiyah charities in Bantul Regency. But this is not only limited to the Bantul area, but covers the entirety of Yogyakarta during 2019. What UMY has given is meant to provide benefits to the people, one of which is in the Bantul area,” said Drs.
