UMY Signs MoU with BPPK of Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) has been displaying itself as a ‘Muda Mendunia’ campus through having cooperation with domestic and overseas institutions. On Friday (9/10) at director meeting hall of graduate school, Floor 1, UMY represented by Rector of UMY Prof. Dr. Bamabng Cipto, M.A. signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Policy Analysis and Development Agency (BPPK) of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Republic of Indonesia represented by Act. Head of Policy Analysis and Development Agency Salman Al Farisi. The MoU was dealing with cooperation in foreign policy analysis and development.

“Ministry of Foreign Affairs provides an occasion for higher education, particularly UMY, to cooperate to foster education, teaching, research, scientific study, and community service dealing with international relation issues,” he conveyed.

He informed that the scope of the MoU encompassed educational and teaching field like development of workshop, seminar, socialization, and discussion, as well as scientific study regarding international relation issues like publication of scientific study, survey, and provision of experts. “We also provide volunteerism, scholarship, and public consultation for students of UMY,” he stated.

After the MoU signing, Prof. Bambang Cipto expressed that UMY warmly welcomed the cooperation. The 2-year cooperation may assist students and academicians of UMY to conduct research and volunteerism at Ministry of Foreign Affairs. “May this cooperation bring enormous impacts on students of UMY to enhance themselves through education and research regarding international relation issues,” he expected.

Additionally, Secretary General of Ministry of Foreign Affairs Drs. Yohanes Kristiarto Soeryo Legowo also attended the MoU signing. It was continued by Forum Group Discussion (FGD) about Challenges of Indonesia to a Be Maritime Country.
