UMY Welcomes a Field Trip of Universitas Kristen Maranatha Bandung

Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) welcomed a field trip of University of Kristen Maranatha Bandung firstly on Friday (8/1) at meeting hall of rector of UMY. The field trip aimed at Arrangement of Strategic Plans and Standards of UMY.

Head of Planning and Development Affairs (BPP) of UMY Dr. Bambang Jatmiko, S.E., M.Si. stated that UMY gained various academic and non-academic achievements. “UMY has fifteen departments getting ‘A’ accreditation, and Alhamdulillah this university achieved five stars of international accreditation for three fields, namely facilities, responsibilities, and inclusiveness. UMY also focuses on its tagline ‘Muda Mendunia’ besides ‘Unggul dan Islami’,” he mentioned.

Noticing the achievements of UMY, a main team of strategic plan arrangement of University of Kristen Maranatha was willing to find out how to manage and develop a university to gain ‘A’ accreditation of Higher Education Institution Accreditation (AIPT). Rector Assistant I of University of Kristen Maranatha Dr. Johannes Ibrahim, S.H., M.Hum. conveyed, “This field trip points at recognizing vision and missions on development plans. We would like to find out the organization, Student Activity Units (UKM). And particularly quality guarantee system,” Johannes told.

The other parties of University of Kristen Maranatha joining the field trip were Head of Planning Monitoring, and Quality Guarantee Affairs Dr. Ariesa Pandanwangi, Dra., M.Sn., Head of Quality Planning Affairs Dr. Andi Wahju R.E., BSEE, MSEE, and a member of Strategic Plan Arrangement Ir. Kartika Suhada, M.T.

Besides, the parties of UMY were Head of BPP Dr. Bamabng Jatmiko, S.E., M.Si., Head of Human Resource Affairs (BSDM) Rini Juni Astuti, S.E., M.Si., Head of Quaity Guarantee Affairs (BMP) Dewi Nurul Mustjtari, S.H., M.Hum., representatives of internal and external BMP, and representatives of Educational Development Agency (LP2). Dealing with quality guarantee of UMY, Dewi maintained that the highest point of AIPT gained by UMY was on the governance.  Thus, the changes are necessary to undertake by updating and evaluation vision, missions, and goals.

Regarding vision of UMY which is ‘Unggul dan Islami’, Dewi explained that ‘Unggul’ refers to being excellent at sciences and technology while ‘Islami’ means moral values. She also said the goals of UMY are creating religious and noble graduates. “Even though the vision is ‘Unggul dan Islami’ and UMY also develops Islamic studies as well as arts, this university welcomes and accepts non-Muslim students,” she maintained.
