To achieve a goal as the world’s top 500 reputable universities, Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) always expands its partnership with foreign institutions. On Tuesday (20/03), UMY signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM), Spain.
The MoU signing was carried out at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid together with the International Conference on ASEAN Studies (ICOAS). Representatives of UMY attending the MoU were Rector of UMY Ir. Gunawan Budiyanto, M.P., Dr. Nano Prawoto, S.E., M.Si., Prof. Dr. Achmad Nurmandi, M.Sc., Ir. Nafi Ananda Utama, M.S., Mukti Fajar ND, S.H., M.Hum., Eko Priyo Purnomo, M.Res., P.hD. and the conference was also joined by the embassy of the Republic of Indonesia.
Executive Director of Cooperation and International Affairs of UMY Eko Priyo Purnomo stated, “The cooperation encompasses joint research, teaching, as well as staff and student mobility. This is an effort of UMY to be an international reputable university.”
Eko told that broadening international partnerships enable UMY to also boost the number international mobility programs for students (student exchange, internship, and scholarship programs) and staffs (visiting fellow and joint programs).
“The MoU signing shows an agreement to collaborate in various fields and to escalate to reach UMY’s target as a reputable university,” declared Eko.
