Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) has possessed a great international reputation since the university successfully cooperated with a lot of foreign universities. One of UMY partner universities is Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM). On Friday (3/8) at Simulasi Sidang room of International Relations, Building E of UMY, 13 students and a lecturer Mazita Binti Mohamed visited UMY to introduce UMM and know more about UMY.
In her remark, Mazita stated that the visit aimed to promote a new program at UUM, namely Bachelor of Philosophy, Law and Business (BPLP). “We were inspired by Oxford University so that we established the BPLP,” she told.
Mazita informed, “UMM has promoted the BPLP to all partner universities such as Brunei Darussalam, Vietnam and Laos since last year.”
Meanwhile, Director of Office of International Affairs of UMY Yordan Gunawan, S.H., MBA., M.H. warmly welcomed the visit. “UUM and UMY has collaborated for long time to intensively conduct several programs as student exchange, staff exchange, joint research and others,” he declared.
“Malaysia and Indonesia are sisters in Nusantara having indivisible blood ties. Thus, this visit may reinforce cooperation of UMM and UMY,” expected Yordan.
At the end of the visit, UMM and UMY parties took photos and handed over a token to each other.
