Vocational Program of Accounting of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) conducted a practitioner lecture on ‘Implementation of PSAK 59 in Sharia Banking on Thursday (19/4) at Building of K.H. Ibrahim of UMY.
Head of the Vocational Program Barbara Gunawan, S.E., M.Si., Ak., C.A. stated that students need a practice to understand the condition of sharia banking. “Learning is about not only theories but also practices with the expects. Students has listened the topic from their lecturers. Thus, we provide the practitioner lecturer in order that students learn from the expert,” he declared.
Barbara explained that the great number of sharia bank customers should be in line with the capability of the practitioners. “Therefore, students should be prepared with sharia banking practicums,” he said,
Besides, the practitioner lecture aimed to broaden students’ knowledge and expertience. “Students are expected to recognize whether or not they are capable because many people now do transaction via sharia banks due to their sharia law,” told Barbara.
Acting as the speaker of thee practitioner lecturer was a marketing manager of BRI Syari’ah Eka Jati Rahayu Firmansyah. Additionally, BRI Syari’ah and UMY signed an agreement.
