Three Medical Students and one Electrical Engineering student of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) achieved the best articles in International Conference of Medical Health and Science conducted on 1-4 September 2015 at study hall of Asri Medical Center (AMC) of UMY. They were Ade Pajar Pridianto, Yusuf Susanto, Rizal Dwika Saputro, and Hendrian Ade.

They presented a paper entitled “The Potency of Near Infrared Based Webcam as Detector in Early Stage of Breast Cancer”. “In fact, it was our research proposed for Student Creativity Program (PKM) examined from January to June,” informed Ade. He conveyed that his team was funded by Kemenristek DIKTI. Nevertheless, his team did not pass to National Student Scientific Week (PIMNAS) 2015.

“It did not drag us down. We attempted to modify the research and summarize it into a paper to present in the international conference organized with collaboration with DIKTI,” Ade inserted. The research finding is a web camera with near infrared connected to a computer that can be utilized to detect early stage of breast cancer.

Moreover, the international conference was conducted by Medical Faculty of UMY collaborated with Ministry of Higher Education. It was held for four days at Asri Medical Center (AMC). The participants were from Malaysia, Taiwan, and Indonesia. Ade and his team expected that, besides gaining certificate of merit and cash prize, they can always obtain fund to foster their research till international level.
